Hit Refresh on Your Resume Writing Skills This Thursday! I can show you how.

By Innovate Pasadena Staff — August 8, 2016
No one, I mean no one, likes working on their resume. Even professional resume writers hate working on their own resume. I work on other people’s resumes all day but when it comes to my own resume, I hate working on it, too! Rest assured, though, the more you know about resume-writing strategy, what information is relevant and what you can cut out, what to highlight, what to downplay…the easier it becomes. That is where I come in. At this week's Pasadena Tech Jobs Refresh Your Resume Workshop I will walk you through a step-by-step approach to crafting a resume that speaks to the tech community. No matter where you are in your career, you will walk away with tips to make your resume rise to the top. I am Kate Rogers and aside from hating my resume, I’m a Career Coach at General Assembly. With ten years in the creative and tech recruiting world under my belt, I found a home at GA where people are passionate about technology and passionate about giving people the tools they need to launch or refocus their career. I've found my calling helping others craft the tools they need to transition into the tech scene. I use the skills I’ve gained positioning talent for my clients to guide others to successfully launch or pivot their careers in technology. As a Career Coach, I work with students in the classroom, after graduation and one on one to help them develop and hone the materials and skills they need to find, interview for, negotiate and land that next step in their career. I’ve found another amazing thought partner in Innovate Pasadena, an organization that is dedicated to growing and nurturing a community of tech professionals, entrepreneurs, educators and creating a vibrant ecosystem of technology and design innovation. I’m thrilled to give back to this community in a real and practical way. Kate is a Career Coach at General Assembly working with Developers and Designer and recovering Recruiter. Although she hates working on her own resume, she loves helping with yours. You can reach her out CareerCoachKate@gmail.com.
