Web3 Pathways, Practices and Possibilities

Event Details

Join our summer series on Web3. Learn fundamental concepts and principles, explore new practices and projects, and address questions in IP, energy consumption, community building and new economic models.

Our first session highlights perspectives from creative technologists and practitioners who will share key insights on opportunities and challenges across Web3. Learn how creatives are using these new and emerging technologies to reach new audiences. Following the panel, join La Mer Walker for an introductory workshop about the fundamentals of Web3 world building.

Panelists:
Sarah Conley Odenkirk: Partner, Co-Head of Art Law and NFT Practice Group
La Mer Walker (Alum): Managing Director, Digital Media, ORIGYN Foundation
Ryan Roybal (Alum): Founder, NFT Collective and Aspekt.ai
Maggie Hendrie: Professor, Chair Graduate Media Design Practices and Undergraduate Interaction Design at ArtCenter
Alysia Alex (Moderator): Associate Director, Career and Professional Development at ArtCenter

Hosted by Professional Education and Career and Professional Development

Please Note: We acknowledge that Web3 and some of its underlying components including NFTs, Cryptocurrency and the Metaverse can be polarizing, misunderstood and misrepresented. As a college, we aim to cut through the hype, not to take a side but rather to present the current state of the space, identifying key areas for further investigation, experimentation and educational programs.
