Developer mentorship has several benefits to both mentors and mentees from learning best coding practices to promoting professional growth. Being an effective mentor will not only help your mentee navigate through the software industry well, but also develop your leadership skills. Tyler Menezes will share and answer your questions about what makes a mentor an effective and exceptional one and how you can build a strong mentorship with your mentees.
You may submit your questions when you register or ask during the event. All questions submitted by Monday, April 12th at noon will be shared with Tyler Menezes prior to the event.
About Tyler Menezes: Tyler Menezes is the Executive Director at CodeDay, where he works to provide welcoming and diverse opportunities for under-served students to explore a future in tech and beyond.
Born in Canada but raised in the Pacific Northwest, he briefly attended the University of Washington before dropping out to start a Y Combinator and venture-backed social video startup in 2011. This, combined with stints working in machine learning at Microsoft Research and as a programmer at several Seattle startups, led to his work finding data-driven solutions to increasing CS diversity and enrollment since 2014.
