The Caltech Biotechnology Club in collaboration with and support from Caltech Entrepreneurship Club, Caltech Office of Technology Transfer and Corporate Partnerships, Caltech Career Development Center, Innovate Pasadena, Moore Hufstedler Fund and Caltech Alumni Association present a two-part program.
The Annual Caltech Biotech Club Industry Night brings together Caltech students, post-docs, and alumni with industry leaders from biotech companies. This year’s industry night is held in collaboration with the Caltech Entrepreneurship Club’s Idea to Innovation series. The purpose of the event is to improve on-campus relations and foster connections for students/post-docs/alumni in all disciplines. Representatives from approximately 10 companies will be present to talk to students about specific careers in biotechnology. The evening includes a keynote panel and a networking reception with students and biotech professionals providing a unique opportunity in an intimate, one-on-one setting. In short, this event was originally created to give the Caltech community an opportunity to learn more about professions in biotechnology.
During the networking session, Caltech attendees go to the tables of their choice and interact with company representatives. The representatives are usually senior scientists or executives, but we do not limit their background. Managers and representatives from the 'business end’ have attended similar events in the past. Immediately after the keynote panel, representatives from each company will give a very brief (30sec) introduction about themselves, their company, and the type of people that do best at their company.
