3DEXCITE Announces New Location, New Managing Director

By Hillary Forsythe — February 19, 2015
Dassault Systémes, the 3DEXPERIENCE Company, announced that its 3DEXCITE brand, a leading provider of high-end 3D visualization solutions, has moved to a new location in Pasadena under the direction of a newly appointed Managing Director, Christopher Nelson. 3DEXCITE was located on North Fair Oaks Avenue since opening its doors in 1999 and has recently relocated to South Lake Avenue. The move is a bigger step for the brand in its efforts to support growth and development on the west coast. Compared to the original space that conveyed a “start-up” vibe, the South Lake office is more indicative of a global technology group that thrives on innovation. The 3DEXCITE brand has two offices in North America, the Pasadena location and an office in Royal Oak, Michigan. The Pasadena group in particular, is responsible for developing high-end product point-of-sale experiences derived of 3D engineering data. The office will play host to guests from the Automotive, Aerospace, Luxury Lifestyle and Consumer goods industries. Dassault Systémes | 3DEXCITE is also a strategic tech partner to the Art Center Pasadena and has established roots in the community. Many employees are alumni of the prestigious institution and also serve as adjunct professors in the Transportation Design Department. “We look forward to taking advantage of all that our new location has to offer. We can easily host a demonstration of our latest, interactive solution in office and walk down the block for a high-level, lunch meeting. The area is really a great representation of the best Pasadena has to offer.” states Christopher Nelson, Managing Director. Nelson is relocating his family to the area from Michigan and will lead the team through the transition and set the course for the office moving forward. Chris joined 3DEXCITE in 2006, and played an integral role in helping the Royal Oak office grow from three employees to 100. As Director of Professional Solutions for the Americas, he oversees the coordination of Interactive Experiences for both offices. Chris has also worked closely with a number of departments at General Motors to develop a real-time relationship with the organization. Prior to joining 3DEXCITE, Nelson worked in a variety of creative positions including graphic design, material creation and furniture fabrication. He holds two Bachelors of Fine Arts degrees from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, focusing on industrial and furniture design. Nelson is a recipient of the 2012 D Business Award: 30 In Their 30’s - a recognition for innovation and excellence in his field. Read More about 3DEXCITE.
