Nonprofit boards provide governance, resource development and leadership, but many board members have never been taught the basic expectations and responsibilities of board service. This workshop will give you the orientation you wish you’d had before you joined a board!
Topics will cover board basics, including overview of the social sector, the role of a board, responsibilities of board members, both as a group and as individuals. Open to people who are currently on boards, would like to join a board or nonprofit staff who work with the board.
Taught by nonprofit consultants Mitch Dorger and Judy Plunkett.
Limit of 3 people from each nonprofit; current board members, people interested in joining a board and nonprofit staff are welcome to attend. Nonprofits must be based in or serve the greater Pasadena area.
