Pasadena Company Developing Drug to Slow Down Progression of ALS

A pharmaceuticals company based in Pasadena announced that a drug they are developing to combat neurodegenerative disorders has successfully slowed down the progression of ALS in a clinical test and can modify genes associated with the nervous system. ALS, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. READ MORE

Caltech is Still One of the World’s Top Universities!

Despite being ranked the best university in the world (repeatedly) by The London Times, Pasadena’s California Institute of Technology has tied for 12th place with Northwestern University as best college in the United States in the annual US News and World Report survey. The Best College Rankings in the United States was once again headed by Princeton University, but saw Caltech atop the charts in Southern California. READ MORE

KPCC In Person and ArtCenter College of Design are launching a new event series in October called "Fast Forward: Designing the Future” that will examine the intersection of technology, design and the human experience. Showcasing Southern California as a hub of innovation, the series will explore how the interaction between humans and the world will be reshaped as products and experiences continue to impact our day-to-day lives in the not-too-distant future. Calling All Docents!

ArtNight returns on Friday, October 21, 2016 just in time for Connect Week! This important cultural tourism event attracts thousands of people to the City of Pasadena and the arts and cultural institutions that open their doors for free. Docents are needed to ride the shuttle buses and guide the drivers and patrons. If you're interested in being a Docent contact the Docent Coordinator and request more information.
