Innovate Pasadena is thrilled to announce this year’s Connect Week as it becomes #Connect16, Pasadena’s signature event celebrating the depth and diversity of creativity and ingenuity that happens every day in our city. From October 16-23 local innovators will host independently organized seminars, workshops, and social events all around Pasadena during #Connect16.
The full schedule of #Connect16 events and programs will be posted at www.connectpasadena.com. A sneak preview of highlights for the week include:
• Big Bang Block Party, October 20, 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Old Pasadena’s Big Bang Theory Way will be transformed into a giant block party with music, games, two bars and fiery food. The Innovate Pasadena team will provide welcoming remarks and alongside other special guests will help officially christen Big Bang Theory Way.
• ArtNight Pasadena, October 21, 6 p.m. - 10 p.m. Enjoy a free evening of art, music and entertainment as Pasadena’s most prominent arts and cultural institutions swing open their doors. The night is yours to decide. Begin your journey at any one of our 18 participating cultural institutions, where free shuttles will be waiting to transport you to your next destination.
• Pasadena Astronomy Festival, October 22, 2 p.m. - 8 p.m. Check out this out-of-this-world event for all ages with astronomy activities ranging from an inflatable, digital planetarium and special telescopes for both daytime and nighttime viewing to the chance to chat up astronomers and find out how the Universe was formed, what are black holes, and whatever happened to little E.T.
• Art Center Car Classic, October 23, 11 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. More than just another high-profile car show, this popular public event celebrates the very best in automotive design, showcasing the College’s strong ties to industry and honoring many of our noteworthy alumni.
Innovate Pasadena is calling on the innovation community to step up and organize an event be that a Meetup, tour, workshop, open house, panel, happy hour, lunch break, you name it. The event calendar is populating daily and interested parties can submit their event using the online submission form found here.
Since 2014, Innovate Pasadena’s Connect Week has helped promote over 80 innovation-inspired events in and around Pasadena and attracted over 15,300 attendees. Connect Week offers the rare opportunity to get inside some of Pasadena’s most interesting start-ups and mature companies, where you can meet their executives and learn about opportunities.
