Guidance Software Employees and Soldiers' Angels Build and Donate 22 Wheelchairs to the VA

By Austin DeArman — June 15, 2016

On June 8, more than 200 Guidance Software employees gathered at Pasadena's Tournament Park, the historic site of the first Rose Bowl Game in 1902, for its annual company meeting and picnic. In 2016 Guidance celebrates the company’s 19th anniversary and the 10th anniversary of its Initial Public Offering (IPO).

As part of the celebration, employees embraced the company’s core value of heart – the belief that Guidance employees are driven to make a difference in the world. Working with volunteers from Soldiers’ Angels, Guidance employees built and donated 22 wheel chairs to the California VA.

Sadly, many veterans with limited mobility lack access to a wheelchair. By donating these 22 chairs, Guidance hopes to help soldiers and veterans at the VA regain mobility, and with it the ability to do so many things that we take for granted, like go outside, see the sun and mingle on the VA campus.

Employees also completed a series of challenges to raise awareness about the needs many veterans have when recuperating and/or overcoming a disability.

Guidance Chief Operating and Financial Officer Barry Plaga said, “We are honored with the opportunity to show our Guidance Heart by building and donating wheelchairs to aid and comfort men, women and veterans of the United States Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard. And we are thrilled to support Soldiers’ Angels and all they do for our service men and women and our vets.”
