Pasadena Golang Meetup

Event Details

Wednesday, February 28, 2018, 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM Sellbrite, 44 West Green Street, Pasadena, CA This is a group for anyone interested in the Go programming language (golang.org). This is our inaugural Pasadena Gophers Golang Meetup and we have a great line up of speakers. Josh Shuster, 4-year Go veteran and Sr Engineer at GreyMeta, will talk about using Go to generate FilePermissions.com. Synopsis: I created filepermissions.com as a thought experiment in generating data centered around linux file permissions. The site was generated and written 100% in Go. It has 9k+ pages, with no backend database, as all the data is stored in memory. In this talk I'll walk through modeling the problem, generating the data, the basics of creating a website in Go, and deploying it to a VPS. We will also have 3 lightening talks: Marian Montagnino, GoLang Developer at GreyMeta, will talk about Go Computer Vision. Homan Chou, Principal Architect at Sellbrite, will talk about Go Job Processing. Keith Swallow, Sr Engineer at Sellbrite, will talk about Go stuff. We will have pizza and beer and will go Go Pub Crawling in Old Pasadena afterwards. All skill levels are welcome, so please drop on by! RSVP
