Art Center College of Design is excited to host the kickoff mixer for CONNECT: A Weekend for Difference Makers & Disruptors on March 13th from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Sponsored by Innovate Pasadena, the event will be held at Art Center’s brand new, beautifully re-designed and very cool building at 870 Raymond Avenue in Pasadena. So why should you be there? Lots of reasons! Bill Gross, CEO of Idealab, is going to talk about a radical non-proprietary “open-source” strategy for launching startup companies that leverages our community of entrepreneurs. Bill started Idealab’s first IdeaDay about a month ago, where he shared ten really interesting ideas for startups with the crowd and challenged them to come back with a proposal to develop their favorite of the ideas to the next stage. You’ll also hear from Mayor Bill Bogaard, and Andy Wilson and Mike Giardello, co-chairs of Innovate Pasadena. Plus the Fine Art and Illustration departments at Art Center are planning a show in the gallery exhibiting their students’ work.
