Innovate Pasadena Welcomes Newest Members: ADP, Guidance Software & Kaiser Permanente

By Michelle Garrett — December 3, 2015
In just over two years, Innovate Pasadena has grown from a consortium of like-minded entrepreneurs, CEO’s, and institutions to a catalyst for coalescing Pasadena’s diverse entrepreneurial, design, and technology community. With 18 corporate and institutional members, we are excited to announce and welcome Innovate Pasadena’s newest members who support our mission: ADP, Guidance Software and Kaiser Permanente. In September of this year, ADP opened a 53,000 square foot Innovation Center in Pasadena. Pasadena is an ideal location for the Innovation Center with top-notch talent coming out of Art Center College of Design and Caltech, not to mention the emerging start-up scene. “There’s some amazing talent working in nearby companies,” said Mike Plonski, Senior Vice President of Product Development for ADP. “There’s a mecca of talent here that we feel that we can tap into.” Headquartered in Pasadena since 1997, Guidance Software is the world’s leading e-discovery and digital investigation software solution provider and one of Innovate Pasadena’s newest corporate members. “Pasadena is one of the greatest innovation hubs in the world, and we’re thrilled to support Innovate Pasadena’s mission of bringing together the brightest minds in science, tech and design to help it grow,” said Michael Harris, Chief Marketing Officer of Guidance Software. “Our industry is currently facing a massive labor shortage of cybersecurity specialists in a field that impacts companies and nation states around the world every day. In addition to our partnership with Caltech, this collaboration with Innovate Pasadena underscores our commitment to attract and grow world-class talent and advance new research at leading institutions within our vibrant community.” Home to Kaiser Permanente’s Southern California Headquarters, the nexus between Innovate Pasadena and the country’s largest health system couldn’t be more a more perfect match. Within and across all levels of the organization, Kaiser Permanente supports innovation to improve outcomes and cut costs. This ideal is emphasized by Nirav Shah, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Clinical Operations at Kaiser Permanent, “At Kaiser Permanente, we are committed to transforming health care. This commitment includes partnering with local businesses and investing in new ideas and technologies that will allow us to improve the health of our members, their families and our communities. Kaiser Permanente is thrilled to join Innovate Pasadena; together we will make Pasadena the hub for healthcare innovators and entrepreneurs.” Innovate Pasadena is a nonprofit organization committed to advancing greater Pasadena as a center of technology and design innovation by promoting collaboration across business and education to attract companies, entrepreneurs, innovators and capital to the broader community.
